Aunt Catia's Recipes
I had the privilege of working on a series of commercials for the Portuguese brand, Bimbo, featuring the talented Portuguese chef Cátia Goarmon, affectionately known as Tia Catia. The project involved capturing high-quality audio during the production stage. Bimbo is a prominent brand in Portugal, known for its delicious bakery products. The commercials aimed to showcase the brand’s products while highlighting the culinary expertise and charm of Tia Catia, a beloved figure in Portuguese cuisine.
Preparation and planning
Prior to the shoot, I scouted the location and planned and prepared for the recording process. By gaining an understanding of the specific shooting scenarios, I selected microphones, audio recorders, and other equipment that were best suited for each situation.
Teamwork
Effective communication with the production team played a pivotal role in the success of the project. Collaborating closely with the director, cinematographer, and other crew members, we synchronized our efforts to maintain harmony between audio and visuals.
Challanges
Recording in a kitchen with a low ceiling presented challenges such as reverberation, noise, and limited space. To address these issues, I used special stands and acoustic blankets. Communication with the production team helped minimize unwanted noise from cooking appliances during recording.
